Richard & Joanna Barton

Richard and Jo took over running Grassington Farm from Richard’s parents in 2003. They are very passionate about the environment and climate change and have kept things on a small scale at Grassington compared to many larger scale egg producers for this very reason. In the rare spare time that farming allows, Richard enjoys writing for children and Jo really enjoys gardening.

Hen Hospital

Sadly hens can occasionally be nasty to each other, so Grassington Farm has its own Hen Hospital where hen pecked hens are separated and cared for before re-homing to new, quieter lives. In addition, at the end of their time on the farm, as many hens from the chicken sheds as possible are also re-homed. If you are interested in hen re-homing please do send an email.
